Lightwright’s power calculations are based on the manufacturer’s specifications, which can vary slightly from the factory to the show.


More than once, I’ve heard people say that LEDs don’t throw as far as tungsten or arc lamps. Is that true? Of course not.


LEDs can no more defy the inverse square law than they can defy the laws of gravity. All things being equal—i.e., the same luminous flux and beam angle —you will get the same illuminance regardless of the light source. That’s one LED myth I’ve heard over the years.
